Not only is this series a tribute to three amazing artists, but it exemplifies the effects that gun violence has. After completing her pieces, The Divine Mac and Amy Winehouse, Rebecca saw the connection that the two had--both taken by the abuse of drugs/alcohol. Rather than glorifying the lifestyle that they lived, she highlighted the reason they are no longer here. That is when Joya decided to turn her focus to cause of death and pursue her latest series Slugs which is made up of musicians who were murdered.
